The 2006 Christmas season marked the 46th annual Georgetown Christmas Market and 36th annual Christmas at Hamill House receptions. Mild weather during the second weekend of Christmas Market brought large crowds to enjoy all the sights and sounds that make the market a memorable experience.

Historic Georgetown hosted five Christmas at Hamill House receptions this season, welcoming the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department and the State of Colorado Heritage Tourism Committee, and treating the guests at public receptions to a performance by John Adams, a reading by Gary Long from "A Child's Christmas in Wales," and a performance by Margaret Pedlow accompanied by Ann Moore on the piano. The Silver Plume Singers added their usual wit to the evenings' entertainment. All events provided guests the opportunity to experience a Victorian Christmas in the beautifully decorated Hamill House.
