HGI offers historic properties for private functions by Jill McDonald Special Events Coordinator |
|
As spring approaches, keep Historic Georgetown, Inc., in mind for a location for your wedding, reception, family reunion, or other special event. Several historic sites are available for private functions, including Hamill House or its grounds, Bowman-White House and grounds, Anderson Park, and Hamill Park. The Hamill House grounds have been newly restored to their original (1880) appearance and may be used separate from the Hamill House. The interior of Hamill House may be used on a limited basis, subject to approval by HGI. The Bowman-White House is a magnificent home built in the Queen Anne style in 1882. The four-room first-floor interior has been restored to simulate the original décor from 1901. During the summer season, guests at the house can also enjoy the neatly landscaped grounds along with two other small historic structures (a cottage and log cabin) on the property.

For smaller ceremonies or events, Anderson Park provides a romantic garden setting among Victorian plants and landscaping. Hamill Park, available late in the summer of 2004, will offer Victorian gardens, a beautiful lawn, and small seating areas. Dressing areas, restrooms, and tour guides can be provided at your request, and we can also provide lists of local florists, caterers, musicians, and photographers. For additional information, please refer to our web site at www.historicgeorgetown.org, where you will find full-color interior and exterior photos of each property. Contact our office at (303) 569-2840 for site fees and additional information, or to schedule an appointment or site visit.
