Abrahamson joins HGI Staff

At the January full board meeting, Vice-Chairman Dana Abrahamson resigned her Board position to accept the unanimous appointment by the Board to the position of Executive Director. Abrahamson has acted as a Board Member, Member of the Management Committee and Chairman of Special Events for the past four years. The position is currently part-time and expected to grow to full-time this summer.

She has lived in Georgetown since 1991 and has been acctive in the community in many areas. She has served a four-year term on the Georgetown Parks and Recreation Commission, has volunteered at First Presbyterian Church, has been very active with Clear Creek Montessori School, and is involved with Georgetown Garden Club. She and her husband, Craig, have two small children who are fifth generation Georgetown residents.

 

Her professional background includes several years at Loveland Ski Area in the marketing department, and two years at The Children's Museum of Denver as KidSlope Director (children's learn to ski program) and Director of Museum Operations. She has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Tennessee, and brings with her knowledge and experience in the areas of marketing, project management, fund raising and administration, in both non-profit and for-profit settings.

Abrahamson joins an excellent staff of Deirdre Baldwin, Curator; Annette Ewers, Administrator; Ann Izard, Administrative Assistant; and Jocelyn Pyle, Tour Guide.
