Calling all kitchen duplicates! The Special Events Committee would greatly appreciate donated items to the Hamill and Bowman-White Houses, such as serving platters, cake servers, spatulas, knives, tea sets, cookie sheets, an electric stove, pot holders, white table linens, and folding tables. There is always a scramble for these items when we host a reception. Please call Jill at (303) 569-2840 if you have items to donate.

William Hamill's birthday will again be celebrated on the Hamill House lawn, Saturday, August 21, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Beer, wine, and birthday cake will be served.

On Saturday, August 28, Clear Creek Rotary 2000 and Historic Georgetown, Inc., will jointly sponsor Lobsterfest III, "Sophie does Hawaii." Tours of the Alvarado Cemetery will be offered from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Social hour will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Village, followed by the lobster dinner. Cost is $60 per person. Dress is tropical. The silent auction will feature a golf weekend in Leadville, a Colorado Springs get-away, and dinner certificates from local restaurants. Costume Club is pleased to feature Hair, Halos and Headwear: Women's History through Headwear, by Dr. Beverly Chico of Regis University, on September 15, 2004, at 9 a.m. This slide-show event will take place in the offices of Historic Georgetown, which are located behind the Hamill House at 305 Argentine Street. The show will feature 4,000 years of women¹s headwear history. Dr. Chico has taught history and humanities at Regis University and Metropolitan State College in Denver. She has been a collector of headwear for over 30 years and has consulted with several museums, including the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa, Canada. Seating is limited.
