Several awards were presented at the 2004 Annual Meeting, allowing HGI to honor board members, volunteers, and donors. The new Historic Georgetown Legacy Society Membership presented its charter members with a certificate, flowers, and a beautiful sterling silver pin, specially created for HGI by Ken Nelson, Georgetown Goldsmith. Legacy Society members have included HGI in a will or trust, or have made some other type of planned gift to the organization. Legacy Society Membership Honorees are: Robert and Betty Hall of Westminster, Colorado; William E. Wilson of Georgetown, Colorado; and Gary Long and Kathy Hoeft of Georgetown, Colorado. Other awards were proudly presented to: Retiring HGI Board Member, Pauline Marshall, under whose leadership the Legacy Society Membership was created. Pauline served on both the HGI Full Board and the Management Committee for several years; she also serves as an excellent volunteer, generous donor, and life member. Outstanding Volunteer, Mickie Newman, Special Events Committee Chairman, for her tireless work to plan, promote, and execute HGI special events over the last two years.

Outstanding Volunteer, Cynthia Skeen, Publications Committee Chairman, for her contribution to the organization over the last year in redesigning, editing, and contributing to The Silver Queen Preservation News and the Landmark District's Journal. Outstanding Volunteer, Cindy Neely, for her work above and beyond her contract obligations for the construction management of the new Gateway Visitor Center. Because of Cindy's direct oversight, budget management, and coordination efforts, this large project was completed on time and on budget. A Membership Award was presented to Dean King, HGI member, donor, and volunteer since 1977. Dean and his daughter, Melody, came all the way from Iowa to the 2004 Annual Meeting. A Life Membership was presented to Bob and Marilyn Schroeder of Georgetown. A Business Recognition Award was presented to Shoppe Internationale and owners Mike and Janice Moore, for their contribution to every HGI special event in the form of beautiful flower arrangements. Shoppe Internationale is a true partner in our historic preservation efforts in the Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District. An Endowment Award was presented to Katherine Moore Wilson and her siblings in appreciation of the Alice B. Moore Trust, which granted Historic Georgetown the endowment for Hamill Park.
