Members and friends on the go, with dedication, preservation, and celebration!

Flowers and memories: (below) Robert and Betty Hall share a loving moment at the dedication of Hamill Park, on Saturday morning, September 10. Coincidentally, the date was also the couple's sixty-fourth wedding anniversary. Betty Hall cut the ribbon for the opening ceremony. Behind the Halls is HGI Executive Director Dana Abrahamson, who presented the Halls with a floral arrangement in honor of their personal and civic achievements.

Paying Homage: (above) Former HGI Chairman of the Board Matthew Skeen, former Police Judge Tom Bennhoff, and current Police Judge Robert Smith wait for the arrival of honoree Ron Neely. The three speakers at the Neely Day ceremony recounted numerous examples of Ron's dedication and vision for the Town of Georgetown and for the cause of historic preservation.

Emerging from the tunnel: (right) Wining, Dining, and Mining, held on August 27, featured an evening ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad, a tour of the Lebanon Silver Mine, and dinner catered by the Georgetown Coffee Company. Guests donned hard hats for the tour of the mine adit. Looking happy to see the sky again, in the foreground, Bill Wilson, Kathie Wilson, and Julie Jameson smile for the camera.
Future preservationists: (left) Young Georgetown residents attending the dedication of Hamill Park on September 10 included from left to right, Melissa Plett, Claudia Plett on the lap of Annette Colle, Bryn Ewers, and Natasha Schmalz on the lap of Kyla Ewers.
Mutual Affection: (above) Karin and Bob Gibbs greet their long-time friend Ron Neely as he arrives at the celebration marking Ronald J. Neely Day and the naming of Neely Lane. The surprise ceremony took place on August 31, 2005.
Knowledgeable volunteer: (left) Hart Axley, stalwart HGI supporter and volunteer, spent a day showing visitors through the Bowman-White House during the Autumn in Georgetown House Tour, on September 23 and 24. Hart's collection of Western oil paintings, all by Colorado artists, is on display in the Bowman-White House. Other friends of HGI who undertook to spit-shine their homes for the tour included Tom Bennhoff, Karen Dean, Nick and Wendy Ulmer, Paul and Sally Nisler, Malcolm Schaeffer and Sarah Kaminski, and Gary Long and Kathy Hoeft. We heartily thank them, as well as the many other volunteers who helped with the tour.
Christmas Market Poster, 2005: (right) Historic Georgetown's Christmas Market Poster for 2005 features the Santa Lucia children's performance during Christmas Market. The poster will be available at the Georgetown Gateway Visitor Center and at various other locations throughout Georgetown. Meet the artist, Joan Moxon, and purchase a signed poster, giclée, or set of Christmas cards at the Hamill House on Friday, November 18, from 5:30-7:30pm.
