Georgetown to host 44th annual
Christmas Market Dec. 6, 7, 13, and 14

Town will shine with Victorian holiday celebration

For two weekends each December, the town of Georgetown is transformed into a bustling Christmas scene right out of a Norman Rockwell painting.
Thousands come to this tiny mountain town where Christmas has changed little in 100 years to enjoy wonderful sights and smells: roasted chestnuts, holiday shopping, horse-drawn wagon rides through historic settings, appearances by St. Nicholas in his traditional robe, and the daily procession of the Santa Lucia. Combine the lights, wreaths, and garlands with blue skies, crisp mountain air, and a blanket of newly fallen snow, and Christmas is complete.

Christmas Market features an outdoor European marketplace with handcrafted gifts and wonderful baked goods, in addition to Georgetown¹s charming year-round shopping experience.

Entertainment varies each day and includes performances by Colorado Chorale, Step in Style Dancers, Colorado Production Show Choirs, Boulder Scandinavian Dancers, Jerry Barlow playing his Celtic guitar, the Georgetown Recorder Consort, and many others. Specific schedules are available during the Market.

Just 45 miles west of Denver, Georgetown has been a popular holiday destination for the last 43 years. Generations of visitors from Colorado and beyond have come each year to experience Christmas in this quaint historic mining town in the Colorado Rockies.

SANTA LUCIA REMEMBERED: Two generations of children from Georgetown Elementary School have participated in the procession during Christmas Market. Santa Lucia brings a message of lighter days to come during the darkest time of the year.
