Bowman-White House, Other Rooms

The Kitchen
The kitchen was remodeled during the 1920's adding a large sink and cabinets. The original wainscoting can still be seen in the broom closet. Behind the glass doors, a working kitchen has been added. The butler's pantry leads into the Music room.

The Second Floor
The second floor contains four bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom was updated in the 1930's but the original porcelain claw foot tub remians. The upper floor is currently not open to the public.

The Property
An outbuilding, which sits behind the house, is thought to have been part of the original landscape before John Bowman purchased the property. Once used as a wash house, the building was converted into an apartment. The Johnson Log Cabin and the Tucker-Rutherford House, part of HGI's five part residential interpretative plan, are also located behind the Bowman-White House. Both properties will eventually be on display as historic houses.
