1161. LYDIA A. TOMLINSON was born in Philadelphia in 1856. She was buried with the Watsons at Riverside Cemetery on 8 September, 1890. 1162. THOMAS SEARLE TOMLINSON (THOMLINSON?) was born in Pennsylvania, 25 March, 1858. He was married and worked as a bookkeeper. He apparently lived at 340 Irene(?) Avenue, Cripple Creek, Colorado. He died in Cripple Creek, Colorado, 28 February, 1906, of pneumonia. He was buried with the Watsons at Riverside Cemetery in Denver, 3 March, 1906, age forty-seven. 1163. WALKER M. TOMLINSON (JR.?) apparently lived twenty years. His remains were moved from Leadville, Colorado to Riverside Cemetery in Denver, 14 January, 1879. 1164. (UNIDENTIFIED) TOMLINSON, no data. 1165. JOSEPHINE MARY WATSON was born in Colorado about 1867. She married
W. R. HOWLAND, a son of Rufus Howland, whose ancestor John Howland was
a passenger on the Mayflower. Josephine's parents, Joseph W. and "Fanny"
Watson, lived with them at 246 West 13th Avenue, Denver until they died.
Josephine and W. R. had a son: 1166. FANNIE REBECCA WATSON was born in Colorado about 1869. She married
PATRICK FRANCIS JOSEPH O'KANE. They apparently lived in Ireland25.
They had five children: 1167. JOSEPH WARRINGTON WATSON, JR. was born in Colorado about 1871. He drowned in a lake near Denver, 27 July, 1880. A friend, David Scroggs, attempted to rescue young Joe, became entangled in weeds, and drowned as well. Both were buried in the Watson family plot at Riverside Cemetery in Denver. 1168. LILA EUGENIA WATSON was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, about 1873. No further data. 1169. WILLIAM ARTHUR WATSON was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, about 1875. No further data. 116(10). HARRY WATSON was born in Denver, Colorado in the 1880's. He was buried with the Watson family at Riverside Cemetery in Denver. 116(11). EMILY BEULAH WATSON was born in Denver, Colorado, about 1881. Her ashes were buried with the Watson family at Riverside Cemetery in Denver, 12 April, 1923. She was forty-two. 1171. PRISCILLA LEEDOM HAMILL was born, presumably in Philadelphia, 21 November, 1859. She died, presumably in Pennsylvania, 9 January, 1867. 1172. WILLIAM ARTHUR HAMILL JR. was born in Philadelphia, 6 November,
1861. On 8 July, 1886, he married HANNAH LORD PANCOAST, daughter of James
Childs Pancoast and Charlotte Royal26.
She was born in 1862. 1173. HENRY CLOYD HAMILL, Mining Engineer, Yale, was born in Philadelphia
11 September, 1864. He married MARGARET LOUISE THORNTON on 9 November,
1896, in Cripple Creek. "Harry" and "Maggie" had two
sons: 1174. HANNAH ELIZABETH HAMILL, called "Lil", was born in the
family home in Georgetown on 9 May, 1871. She went to "Miss Ogontz
School" in Pennsylvania. She spent time in London as her father's
hostess and was presented at Queen Victoria's court of Saint James, circa
1888-89, sponsored by "Cousin Jennie (or Jerrie)" (Jerome?)
Churchill. On 9 September, 1893, she married JAMES BROWN VAN VECHTEN who
was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 1 September, 1871, a son of Peter Van
Vechten. They had four children: 1175. HOCKLEY THOMAS HAMILL, public servant, was born in the family home
in Georgetown 21 September, 1873. He attended Jarvis Hall, a school for
boys, in Denver, a military school, St John's (?), in Missouri, and Swarthmore
College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. He was Postmaster of Georgetown for
sixteen years, 1898-1914. He was also a dairyman and, at least part time,
an insurance agent for the Thomas F. Daly Agency, Denver. On 5 January,
1900, he married KATHERINE BERNADETTE HAGGART of Georgetown, Colorado.
She was the fifth of six children of James H. Haggart from Scotland and
Catherine G. McNulty of Cumberland, Maryland. "Kate" was born
in Brownville (adjacent to Silver Plume), Colorado, 10 August, 1878. "Tom"
and Kate had nine children: 1176. (Unidentified daughter) HAMILL, was born in Georgetown, Colorado, 15 October, 1875. (from Georgetown Miner). "W. A. Hamill's child (infant)" was buried at St Mary's, Alvarado Cemetery, Georgetown, Colorado, 15 August, 1875. (From account books of Henry Boyer, local undertaker.) No further data. 1177. JAMES NORMAN HAMILL, mining entrepeneur and sports promoter, was born in the family home in Georgetown, Colorado, 20 March, 1877. He engaged in mining activities with his father in Denver in the early 1900s and shared offices with him and Jim's brother, Harry, at Suite 209, Equitable Building in Denver in 1903. He then lived at 13th Avenue and Grant Street, Denver. He continued mining activity in Clear Creek County, especially in Wideawake Gulch, above Silver Plume, until his death. On 4 July, 1905, in St. Louis, Missouri, he married KITTY GAYNOR, born in Iowa, 21 August, 1879. Kitty had a daughter, Faye Catherine Harvey, born 8 March, 1896, in Iowa, daughter of Howard Harvey. Faye was a stenographer. She died in Denver of Tuberculosis. Jim and Kitty had no children. Kitty had a brother, Major Clement Gaynor, and a sister, Mrs. Lucille Buclese. Kitty died on their thirty-second wedding anniversary, 4 July, 1937, in Denver, of cancer. Jim was prominently identified with Denver's sporting fraternity as a prize fight promoter and was active in politics. He served for a time as assistant government prohibition administrator for Colorado. Jim died in his Cosmopolitan Hotel room, in Denver, of a heart attack (coronary thrombosis), 2 November, 1937. Jim, Kitty and Faye were all buried in the family plot, lot 179, block 13, at Riverside Cemetery in Denver. 1181. JAMES HAMILL MOON29,
